World’s First Tattoo Shop Cactus Garden!?

World’s First Tattoo Shop Cactus Garden!?

Unfortunatly its been a while since we’ve done anything with our display window, hence why were so excited about this upcoming project! Some of you may remember the vintage tattoo shop instilation by PHil LUck or the mural by our good bud Travis Jackson..which just got painted over unfortunaatly…but this is going to be awesome and permanent. We are really really pumped about this new idea..ARE YOU READY!? Ok…here it goes..were goin to build an actual CACTUS GARDEN! Yuh! Hahah, hope your as pumped about this as we are. We’re real cactus lovers here at Studio 21 and couldn’t be more into this idea. With a light touch of some ghostly cactus murals from Tyson (@SavageSon)  and the collection of cactus and random antiques curated by Mom, Charlie and Austin, this is gonna be rad! Not %100 but were pretty damn sure that we’ll be the first and only Tattoo Shop to have an actual cactus garden #justsayin. After the murals are finished up and the cactus are arranged, we’ll be fabricating our own old school marquee sign backlight with RGB LED strips…then fun will then begin! Studio 21 will be able to update the sign at anytime and be able to provide a message to the 75-80 THOUSAND cars a day traveling up Flamingo road. Lets see…hmnn what are we gonna have to say!? Give us a month or so and well have the garden ready to roll! Here’s some sneek peek pics of the project. Can’t wait for you to see it!

    Halloween 2013 Flashback!

Wondering around the ol’ computer and came across some great photos of Studio 21’s Halloween party last year (2013). Sometimes you get a little busy and time just flys by…It’s wild how many great times we’ve been able to  share  with the Studio 21 Fam. I think I speak for us all when I say, “Damn I wanna party every day!” Sometimes we get so busy tattooing, we forget to share these really awesome moments with our friends, clients and 21 Family, so here ya go. We sure do appreciate the great people that we have the privilege of working with here at Studio 21 Tattoo and always are looking forward to spending those great nights together away from the shop. THANKS CREW!!

Featured Artist: Nick Bones, tattoo artist at Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery

If you have met Nick, you know that he is all about pugs. Pugs, pugs and more pugs. Nick and his wife Destiny (who serves on the board) are strong supporters of Southern Nevada Pug Rescue. Not only are they pug owners themselves, but they foster pugs, handle pick ups and house checks for perspective pet owners. This will be their 4th year of supporting Pug-O-Rama. Nick Bones designed the official shirt this year for the event, which is only available at the event, so make sure to swing by the event and pick up a tee, a fun event all for a good cause. Anyone wishing to donate artwork for the event to raise money for Pug-O-Rama needs to contact the event immediately, it’s coming up soon.

    Military Changes Policy On Tattoos

Tattoos and military has gone hand in hand through the history of time, from the fighting sailors of the Pacific landing in the ports of Honolulu in Chinatown, to present day branches of military personnel acquiring tattoos. Although the conditions of tattoo shops and the industry today has changed dramatically since the rough and ready times of the old sea dog legend, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins’ tattooing, military was synonymous with getting inked. Bob Baxter post an interesting blog on the military’s changing views on tattoos.

    Hopeful Improvements

There are a lot of tattoos out there that tattoo enthusiasts have acquired through their lifetime that they regret, or wished could be improved. There is hope for some of those situations, it just takes a little time to consult with your artist and figure out a solution. Whatever the situation, do not rush the project. Research and due diligence is worth your time and effort. Our studio handles all kinds of issues and problems with existing tattoos. The key is trusting your tattoo artist and being open to suggestions. Total cover-ups may be the answer to some projects as opposed to re-working an existing tattoo to look brand new. Don’t loose hope if you are in that situation, often solutions are there, you just need to find the right tattoo artist for the project. Keep in mind there are some projects that an honest artist will admit that he cannot work with, it happens, so listen up. This particular tattoo circulated the internet and had a happy ending for the customer and his artist, thought you might find it interesting.
